Spain - The FIFA World Champion 2010

Spain became the FIFA World Cup Football Champion 2010 first time in the history after defeating Netherland by 1 – 0 in the final. The match was played in the Soccer City Stadium of Johannesburg on 12th July 2010. Before this, these two teams never won any world cup. Netherland had played the finals of 1974 and 1978 world cups before but couldn’t win and remained unlucky this time too. But Spain got the place in final and also became champion first time.
When the match started then the players of both teams attacked many times on the goal sides of each other and wasted several confirmed goal chances. Also, the players were looking so ruthless and angry and it was feeling that now players would start to fight with each other. Sometimes any Dutch player pulled down the Spanish and sometimes Spanish did the same. That’s why yellow card was shown 8 times to the Dutch team and 5 times to the Spanish which is a record. Also, the match referee Howard Webb showed red card to the Dutch defender John Heitinga with a second caution in the 109th minute of the match.

Both teams strived hardly to score the goal but remained unsuccessful. At last, the time was up and extra 30 minutes were given to the match. The match was becoming so exciting after spending every moment. At the 116th minute of the match, Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta scored the maiden and winning goal of the match after beautiful pass of Fabregas. That was the outside hit but referee didn’t see it. Dutch players protested on this situation to the referee but he had confirmed the goal. This triumph of Spain remained till the end of the match.

Before this match, the famous octopus of Paul Allen had also predicted the victory of Spain. So one more prediction became true. With this historical victory, Spain became the World Cup Football Champion for the next 4 years. This victory was celebrated with sensational fireworks in front of 84,000 audience. The coach of Spanish team Vicente del Bosco told media that “the match was very difficult. We deserved the victory and we know that people in all region of Spain supported us. Dutch team fought marvelously and in some sense, they tied our hands. We played a very tense game and won.”

Paul's Octopus – The Football Predictor

The mega event of World Cup Football 2010 will always be remembered in the history for an amazing reason. And that reason is the prediction of an octopus. This octopus predicts about the winning team before the match. It correctly and consecutively predicted the result of semi final between Germany and Spain. Before this match, its prediction about the quarter final between Germany and Argentina has also been correct.

Due to accurate and true predictions about world cup football matches, the octopus is become the spotlight in the world and has been generated worldwide attention. This octopus belongs to an astrologer of Germany named Paul Allen. It has been  accurately predicted all six matches of Germany in the football world cup so far.

The test of prediction which is performed in the Sea Life Aquarium of Oberhauser (Germany) contains two acrylic boxes with the national flags of each team and some mussels which is the food of octopus. The hungry octopus picks its food from one of both boxes then it is considered that this selected team will win the match.

Holland Eliminated Brazil - A Historical Upset

On July 2nd, 2010, in the first quarter final of world cup football match, Holland defeated the most hard, feared and the five times world champion Brazil by 2 – 1 and eliminated it from the world cup football event. This was not only a very big disappointing but also a great upset in the world cup football history. The dream of Brazil to take the world cup sixth time has been shattered. All the Brazilian fans hurt including me because Brazil is always my full time favorite team too.

In this quarter final, all the expectations were with Brazil that it would defeat Netherland. When the match started then both teams played well. They attacked on the goals side of each other many times. In the 10th minute of the match, Brazil got the success when its dangerous striker Robinho scored a fantastic goal on the beautiful pass of Felipe Melo. This vantage of Brazil took over Netherland till the end of first half.

In the second half, the Dutch team came back into the match dramatically. This fast come back became successful for the Dutch team when in the 53rd minute, its player Sneijder scored the goal by kicking the ball which fell into the net after skidding off the head of Felipe Melo and leveled the score 1 – 1. The amazing thing happened in the 68th minute when the Dutch team took over the game. The same player Sneijder scored the second goal on a header from a free kick and then finally the Dutch team became successful to make impossible to possible.

In the last moments of the match, the Brazilian players became so emotional and tried to level the score as much as possible but remained unsuccessful. And then match winded up with the historical victory of Holland which was the amazing upset. The coach of Brazilian team Dunga resigned from their post after this breakdown. The hilarious fight back of the Dutch team in the second half is definitely able to appreciate. Now Holland will face Uruguay in the first semi final which will be played on 6th July 2010. It is true that Brazil is a tough team but in Football, everything can happen. This is an amazing game.
